end of day: what i come back to

end of day: what i come back to

by the end of the day, i’m not trying to optimize anything.
i’m coming back to what already works.

nothing new, nothing complicated.
just the same few things that settle the night.

what i change into

this is usually the first shift of the night.

a hot shower, then whatever I was wearing during the day gets swapped out for something easier.

a robe or soft shorts
hair up with whatever clip is nearby

nothing styled. just comfortable enough to be done for the day.

what i do without thinking

this part stays pretty consistent.
not because i force it, but because it’s already part of the routine.

red light
skincare
ice roller

it’s not a full reset.
just enough to feel like I’m done for the day.

what stays within reach

once i sit down, i don’t want to get back up for things i know i’ll need.

so a few things are always nearby:

water
lip mask
facial spray

small things, but they make the night feel easier.

what the night becomes

this is usually where everything settles.

something on in the background (usually dateline)
and whatever snack I didn’t plan on eating but grabbed anyway

sometimes it turns into a full dateline friday situation.
sometimes it’s quieter than that.

either way, it’s the same idea.

nothing added. nothing overthought.
just what i come back to at the end of the day.

what stays the same

i’m not building anything here.
i’m returning to it.

nothing added, nothing forced.
just what works.

and most nights, that’s exactly what i need.
